Money, Money, Money

We are about to introduce coins (penny, nickel, dime, quarter). These are simple take-home readers that I made to go along with our money unit. I read the corresponding Welcome Book before we make each one. If you do not have these you can check them out here.

  1. Thank you! I am going to use these next week in my first grade class. In kindergarten my kiddos were taught coin identification but not the values (it was mentioned but not really focused on). So these will be a perfect mini refresher on coin names and a quick intro to value - I think I will cut the books apart and have my students sort the images by coin and glue them on a piece of construction paper just to make it a little more challenging for them!

  4. Very nicely done! We sing a money song about the coins each day, but not much else. I think these will be great in February when we do the Presidents too!

    1. I cut and staple them, but now I am tempted to change them so they can just be folded :)

  14. Look for books on the market that are written in easy-to-understand terms for kids who want to begin a coin collecting hobby.
The coin collection set you've carefully put together may not thrill, but eventually, the child will pull out that gift and the interest will spark at that point.
